View Gallery James Chirbas has always been fascinated with drawing and painting. He receives the same sense of accomplishment from painting that others receive when they climb a mountain. James graduated from Mercer University, Savannah State College, Georgia Southern College and Armstrong College. He has three art degrees and graduated cum laude in 1980. He made the national deans list and was elected to Who’s Who in Georgia in 1982. James studied art under Marshall Daugherty, Emil Holzhauer, Lucille Blanch, Myrtle Jones, Paul Stone, Bill Hendrix, Guy Hognson, Tom Hodges, Bill Scharf, Jemison Hoskins, John Schmidt, John Jensen and John Mock. Chirbas is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has worked in over 90 movies. He has exhibited his work in many art festivals through out Georgia and some border states and has won many awards in the pursuit of his art. His style has been described as a cross between the primitive, realistic and abstract. The artist may be contacted about purchases directly at (912) 897-2171. |
