Tybee Arts Association Writer’s Studio

Every Sunday from 3pm - 5pm
(starting February 17, 2019!)

Modeled after Denise Vernon’s successful twice-weekly Artist’s Studio, the Writer’s Studio offers a scheduled supportive space for aspiring writers. In addition to providing work space, the TAA Writer’s Studio will facilitate knowledge of local artist’s work and information on local and national learning opportunities for writers. Participants will be offered a comfortable quiet space consisting of a table and chair adjacent to a window, convenient electrical outlets, and restrooms.

Classes will be held at the Tybee Arts Association headquarters at 7 Cedarwood Avenue, Tybee Island.

Participants are encouraged to bring:

  • Writing materials of choice (manual or electronic)

  • Refreshments

  • Personal Music (with earbuds)

  • Any other items that define a personal creative space

The first one and half hours of each studio session will be silent work time.
The final thirty minutes of each session will be optional sharing time.
Participants may share their own work or that of a favorite muse. Or not.

Potential participants are invited to attend two studio sessions at no charge.
After that trial, participants will be asked to register for at least four sessions at $10 per session,
preferably in sequence, for maximum benefit.

All proceeds from the Writer’s Workshop benefit the Tybee Island Arts Association Writer’s Studio and will be used to facilitate local speakers and writing coaches selected by TAA.
